Pia and Dee lose drivetime radio slot

EDINBURGH-based all-speech radio station, talk107, is replacing its late afternoon/early evening ‘drivetime’ presenting team of Simon Pia and Heather Dee with a new pairing.

Well-known TV presenter, Dominik Diamond, and Marisa de Andrade take over the slot from today, Pia and Dee having been told of their fate on Friday in the capital’s Tigerlily bar and restaurant – the scene, a few months back, of former presenter, Diane Lester’s departure.

Dee has been offered the weekend breakfast slot.

Speculation about the future of Pia – a former diarist on The Scotsman newspaper – and Dee had been rife since as long ago as September. Indeed, for a very short while at the end of that month, Diamond’s entry in the website, Wikipedia, was saying that he and de Andrade were likely to be taking over drivetime in November.

Rumours only intensified when an advertising campaign, promoting the station, included neither Pia nor Dee.

This time last year, Diamond and de Andrade were presenting on rival station, XFM Scotland.
