Return to broadcasting roots for McShane

A GLASGOW-based communications consultancy formed by former presenters on the BBC Scotland news programme, Reporting Scotland, has appointed a former TV director and producer to head up its “expanding” audio-visual department.

Natalie McShane has been taken on by The Broadcasting Business, founded by Alan Douglas and Bill McFarlan.

She joins from national transport agency, Transport Scotland, where she was Major Projects Communications Manager. Previously, she was producing and directing the stv evening news programme, Scotland Today.

Says McFarlan: “We are delighted to have Natalie join our team. Her arrival marks a fantastic opportunity for us to raise the profile of our production department. 2007 was a fantastic year for our training division – the high spot being our role as the official presentation skills trainers for the Bid Team, securing the Commonwealth Games for Glasgow.”
