French Film Festival for Inverness

A CELEBRATION of French film, now in its 16th year, has added Inverness to its roster of venues.

The French Film Festival – UK-wide, but with its origins in Scotland – takes place between March 7 and 20, and, among its highlights, is welcoming Lola Doillon, who is making her directorial debut with Et toi, t’es sur qui? (Just About Love?).

As well as Inverness, the festival- which has established bases in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, plus London and Manchester – welcomes Birmingham, Warwick and Cardiff on to its screenings list.

Says festival director, Richard Mowe: “The festival has grown considerably, using both the traditional art houses and also multiplexes to entice new audiences to sample French titles. We’re especially pleased to be able to take a selection of films to Inverness for the first time and we hope it will become a regular venue.”

Films targeted specifically at schools audiences accompanied with education packs have been initiated by Glasgow Film Theatre’s head of learning, Emily Munro, and will be seen at GFT, Filmhouse, DCA and Belmont, as well other leading cinemas.
