Media curries favour over new awards

A CLUTCH of Scottish media outlets have joined up with soft drinks giant, Irn-Bru, to promote the inaugural Scottish Curry Awards.

The Sunday Post and united wholesalers (Scotland) are the main sponsors, and the media partners include The Scottish Sun, radio stations, Clyde 1 and Forth 1, and the Eastern Eye newspaper.

The awards feature eight separate categories, including the Sunday Post Restaurant of the Year. Nominations have been handled through entry forms in The Sunday Post, whose editor, David Pollington, is said to be something of a curry expert.

Entries close on Saturday.
