Bleak prognosis painted for Scottish papers

SCOTTISH daily newspapers may not survive in the face of competition from London-based titles, according to claims broadcast on Friday on BBC Radio Scotland, in a programme presented by former Scotsman editor, John McGurk.

And one of the reasons why is a plan by Scottish local authorities to transfer their job ads from newspapers to their own, dedicated website.
