BBC gears up for Bard anniversary with comic tale

THE 250th anniversary, next year, of the birth of Robert Burns is to be celebrated by BBC Scotland with a comic tale – filming over the next few weeks and including some of Scotland’s best-known actors and comedians.

No Holds Bard is to feature, among others, Ashley Jensen, Bill Paterson, Dennis Lawson, Ford Kiernan, Greg Hemphill, Paul Higgins, Laura Fraser, Ron Donachie, Katy Murphy and Forbes Masson.

Says Alan Tyler, head of entertainment at BBC Scotland: “We are delighted to have attracted this fantastic array of Scottish stars to the cast of No Holds Bard. Many of them have worked with BBC Scotland before, and it feels great to welcome them back home to star in this modern comic tale.”
