Trinity Mirror triumphs at Scottish ad sales awards

THE Scottish titles of newspaper publishers, Trinity Mirror, pretty much swept the board at awards celebrating the best advertising sales teams in the country.

So dominant were the teams from the Daily Record, Sunday Mail and Scottish and Universal Newspapers that, together, they accounted for almost a third of the awards up for grabs, including the top honour: Sales Team of the Year.

The Scottish Media Awards – held in Glasgow – put 19 categories up for grabs.

One of the most impressive wins was for relatively recently-launched local newspaper outfit, Premier Publishing.

Up against four nominations from Herald publisher, Newsquest, and three from the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, it came away with Product Launch of the Year prize – for its free title, Inverclyde News.
