Crime corr goes freelance

ONE of Scotland’s best-known crime reporters is to go freelance, after a year working at the Scottish Sun.

Jane Hamilton was, before her stint at The Sun, four years crime reporter at the Sunday Mail, preceded by another four years – as crime correspondent – at the Edinburgh Evening News.

What’s more, she’s leaving to hopefully study the subject at university: she’s applied for Masters degree in criminology.

She said of her time at The Sun: “Alan Muir is easily the best news editor in the country – he was a joy to work for. The team at The Sun are great reporters – it isn’t hard to see why it’s the biggest-selling daily in Scotland.”
