Dorward donates freelance fee to hospice

SPIKE liked the gesture of freelance football writer, Philip Dorward, in the Sunday Herald, the other day.

In the capacity of both writer and Dundee United fan, he wrote a tribute to the club’s late chair, Eddie Thompson, who died last week.

It was an excellent read, finished off by the words: ‘Philip Dorward would like to donate his fee for this article to Ward 32, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where Eddie Thompson went for his prostate cancer treatment.’

Nice one.
