Up for debate: can the media be trusted?

THE media and whether it can be trusted is to be the subject of a debate in Glasgow between two of journalism’s best-known figures.

Award-winning Nick Davies and The Indepedent’s Robert Fisk are next month speaking at the fourth Aye Write! book festival.

In his recent book, Flat Earth News, Davies argues that journalism is undermined by commercialism to the point where most reporters are no longer able to go out and find stories, make contacts or even check the ‘facts’ which they recycle.

The pair are appearing on March 7, at noon.
