Peeblesshire News bucks downward sales trend

BUCKING the downward sales trend among most Scottish newspapers, one local newspaper is celebrating a circulation increase of over over six per cent.

The Peeblesshire News has seen its sales rise by 6.2 per cent over the last half of last year, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC).

The only other local newspapers in Scotland coming close to matching the feat are the Strathspey & Badenoch Herald (up 3.9 per cent) and the Brechin Advertiser (up 0.7 per cent).

Says Peeblesshire News editor, Atholl Innes: “This is a testimony to all the hard work that our editorial and advertising teams have contributed over the past year.

“In my many years of editing the Peeblesshire News, I don’t recall ever having a stronger editorial team.”
