Commons motion follows Firecrest news piece for Channel 4

AN investigation by a Glasgow-based independent television production company, Firecrest Films, has resulted in a House of Commons Early Day Motion being proposed.

Half a dozen MPs have already signed the motion, which follows a Channel 4 news item last week about the Faslane naval base on the Clyde.

Firecrest Films was set up in September last year by former BBC Panorama and Newsnight producer, Nicole Kleeman.

Its Faslane investigation is the second investigative film the company has made for Channel 4 News.

It was made in collaboration with Sunday Herald journalist, Rob Edwards.

Its other Channel 4 News item was about Housing Associations – facing serious cashflow problems and resulting in a shortfall in affordable housing. It was transmitted in December.
