Scotsman launches new Edinburgh festivals website

THE website of The Scotsman newspaper has launched a website dedicated to news, reviews and information about the forthcoming Edinburgh Festivals.

www.edinburgh-festivals.com, which was built in-house by scotsman.com’s team of developers, is being described as having a “sharp new look and a number of enhancements” on a previous festivals site it operated.

Visitors to the site can search show listings for all of the Capital’s main festivals – including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Edinburgh Art Festival and the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival.

Other site features include a daily newsletter packed with information on what’s hot and what’s not and a photoblog chronicling some of the more interesting sights around Edinburgh during next month and September.

Users will also be able to post their own comments about shows, reviews and the main talking points of this year’s festivals.

The new site will be updated daily with articles and reviews by journalists from across The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and Edinburgh Evening News.

Says Henry Faure Walker, general manager, The Scotsman Publications Ltd: “We hope the site will provide a one-stop-shop for festival-goers. It’s easy for visitors to find information on the shows that are of interest to them and, thanks to our venue guide, newsletter and full listings, planning a festival itinerary is simple.

“The site is also an authoritative source of festival information thanks to our formidable team of arts writers who will be posting a host of top-notch reviews and analysis on a daily basis.”
