Fife paper goes green

FOR the first time ever, a Fife newspaper is changing the colour of its masthead – to support a local, ecology festival.

The Fife Free Press has changed the colour of its masthead from blue to green to coincide with the publication of its guide to Big Tent ’09, which is expected to attract 10,000 people to the Fife burgh of Falkland this weekend.

The 24-page supplement also doubles as the official festival programme and souvenir copies will be handed out over the two-day event.

Extensive video footage will be part of the paper’s online coverage of the festival, on www.fifetoday.co.uk.

The initiative is being accompanied by the launch of www.greenfife.co.uk, an online community for groups and individuals with an interest in ‘green issues’. It has been launched in association with the digital team of publisher, Johnston Press, in Peterborough.
