Hepburn comes through with flying colours

LEGEND of the football press corps, Ray Hepburn, encountered a new and distracting problem while covering the Hearts versus St Mirren match on Saturday.

And it’s maybe a disturbing sign of global warming, for the paint on the wooden surround at the front of the Tynecastle press box began to melt, resulting in Ray’s notebook getting covered in maroon goo.

Some of it inevitably made its way on to his hands and face.

But trouper that he is, Ray hardly missed a comma as he carried on dictating his copy while trying manfully to stop the spread of the paint.
