New movie website has eye on British movies

FILM fans can check out reviews of the latest cinema releases by visiting a new movies website, which has been spun out of a long-established one.

www.eyeforfilm.com is a snappier-looking development on iofilm.co.uk, and the change has brought a pledge to feature more news about British film.

But the site has come about because of a share structures dispute at iofilm, which left its main writers without any equity.

The result of the dispute is the whole of the iofilm reporting team, including co-founder Angus Wolfe Murray, setting up the new website, so that everyone involved could reap the benefits of partnership.

It is run by Amber Wilkinson, a sub-editor, part-time, with the Daily Record newspaper, plus writer, Jennie Kermode, and programmer, Scott Macdonald.
