McKay makes capital out of murder

A COLUMNIST with the Daily Record is at the top of the Scottish bestseller list, in at No.2, behind a debutant writer from the same publishing house.

Reg McKay’s Murder Capital shares the top two spots with Maureen Reynolds, in the Ottakar’s best-selling books list. Reynolds’ Voices in the Street, like Murder Capital, is published by Edinburgh-based Black & White, which recently invited journalists with a book proposal to consider contacting them.

While McKay is the author of ten books and a widely published investigative journalist and regular crime columnist for the Daily Record, Voices in the Street is Reynolds’ first book.

Said managing director, Campbell Brown: “Most of Reg’s books have been bestsellers, so the real surprise has been the phenomenal success of Maureen’s debut as a writer which has exceeded all our expectations and augurs well for the future.”
