Seems Davie’s sine die long since died a death

SCOTTISH Premier League football club, Hamilton Academical, last night registered their first away victory against Dundee United since 1989, and reporting the match for BBC Radio Scotland was well-known journalist and match commentator, Scott Davie.

As he revealed on air prior to the match, he had reported the 1989 encounter between the clubs, the tone of which so annoyed then Dundee United manager, Jim McLean, that, says Davie, he was banned from United’s Tannadice stadium, sine die – indefinitely.

Wondered Davie, still on air: “I don’t know if it’s been lifted,” relatively confident that the passing of time had healed old wounds sufficiently for him to be around at the full-time whistle.
