Creative pair pool talents to target UK and international clients

TARGETTING UK and international advertising and design agencies, a copywriter and art director have teamed up in Glasgow to pool their creative talents.

Copywriter, Ben Braber, and art director, Paul Gray, have launched as Ben & Paul, building on a track record that includes founding or co-founding their own, individual companies – in the case of the former, BBMC Goodword; and the latter, Tank.

Says Paul: “When I need a copywriter, I usually phone Ben. And likewise, when Ben needs an art director, he phones me. So, it makes sense to work as a team.”

A former journalist in the Netherlands, Braber set up BBMC Goodword as a network of copywriters and editors, which was to go on to work with clients such as Balfour Beatty, Skanska, Weir Pumps, Bank of Scotland, Scottish Opera, ScottishPower, Scottish and Southern Energy and University of Glasgow.

Gray, meanwhile, was a founder partner of the Tank agency in Glasgow, which worked on advertising and design accounts for, among others, Bacardi, Budweiser, Tennents, Arla and ScottishPower. Now with Suisse design agency, he works with organisations such as Peugeot, the Red Cross, Linn Products and high-street retailers, M & Co. A Scot, he grew up in Cyprus and Saudi Arabia and was trained at the Glasgow School of Art.

Braber and Gray will keep their own companies, BBMC Goodword and Suisse, alongside Ben & Paul.
