Promotion for Scotsman Publications' General Manager

The general manager at Scotsman Publications Ltd – which produces The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and Evening News newspapers – has been promoted within owners, Johnston Press.

Henry Faure Walker has been made digital and business director at the company.

He joined the company eight years ago as group business development manager and in his new role, he will – adds Johnston Press – “continue our programme of expanding the digital activities of Johnston Press which has included the successful launch of local Jobs sites in August 2009 and the new business directory partnership with Qype, announced with our recent interim results which showed digital revenues up by 10.9 per cent”.

The appointment begins with immediate effect.

In a statement, John Fry, chief executive of Johnston Press, says of the 38 year-old's appointment: “We are very pleased that Henry will be heading up our digital and business development areas. He has made a strong contribution to Johnston over the last eight years and the experience he will bring to the new role will be invaluable.”
