North Uist School Scene for Official Call for Entries to School Mags Competition

School pupils in the Outer Hebrides are being encouraged to set up their own magazines and enter a Scotland-wide schools magazine competition – with a personal visit from the Scottish head of magazine representative body, the Periodical Publishers Association.

Kathy Crawford is this week touring the area to promote the PPA Scottish School Magazine Competition, which this year was won by Robert Gordon's College, in Aberdeen, and its magazine, Eclectic.

The visit coincides with the official call for entries for next year's competition, at Paible School, located at the head of a sea loch in North Uist and which was a finalist this year.

Paible took the bronze award in the School Magazine of the Year category and pupils will be told that Robert Gordon’s College has waived its prize to have its magazine professionally printed, by Acorn Web Office, to allow Paible to take advantage of it, instead.
