Grand Gesture Earns Martin and PR Folk High Praise

Kudos for Glasgow PR guru, Flora Martin, in Ken Smith’s Diary in The Herald, which reveals she is sleeping rough to raise money for the charity, Action for Children, but has her confessing: “I took a full-size cheval mirror on a camping holiday to France in 1973 and have never been under canvas since.”

Smith reports: “On her charity webpage, one supportive PR chum writes: ‘Didn’t know Gucci does sleeping bags’, another asks: ‘Does that mean I can stay at yours that night?’

“And a third suggests: ’Just stay up and drink three bottles of wine. The rough bit will come the next day’.

“But so far they have pledged over £1200 – so we take back what we say about folk in public relations.”
