Newspaper Pair Earn Full-page Spread for Pounding the Streets

Two of the key editorial staff on the Inverness Courier bi-weekly hit the headlines in their own newspaper this weekend -for the best of reasons.

Editor, Robert Taylor, and news editor, Olivia Bell – both 'the wrong side of 50' – completed their Over the Hill Challenge by finishing the Baxters’ River Ness 10km run in the Highland capital.

Taylor clocked one hour eight minutes, while Bell finished in one hour 25 minutes. Their feat earned them a full-page spread, with excellent colour pictures of them both, on the road to glory.

Bell has raised more than £600 for Highland charity, Seagull Trust Cruises, while Taylor has hit the £130 mark so far for the Firefighters’ Charity.

Bell said: “I had a lot of fun and made new friends. I’ll never do a marathon, be assured, but I may, just may, do a half marathon if I know I can go the distance.”
