The atrocious weather of the last few days has – as always – brought out the best of the Scottish media, not least local radio stations providing up-to-date information about school closures, airports shut down and roads and bridges blocked off.
But The Scottish Sun today managed to find a little light relief to pierce the gloom, finding an ice cream van in Coatbridge still plying its trade.
The resulting photograph, on the paper's front page, carries the quote balloon: “Do you want a Snowball with that?”
