Sunday Post Announces Raft of Staff Changes

The re-shaping of The Sunday Post under editor-in-chief, Donald Martin, has continued with the announcement of a raft of staff changes.

Former Sunday Times Scotland political correspondent, Iain Harrison, has been appointed chief reporter in the paper's Edinburgh office. This will be his second spell at the paper.

He will be assisted by news hacks Gordon Blackstock (lead reporter) and Alan Shaw (reporter) as well as sports reporter, Kenny Millar, who are all being redeployed from the Glasgow office.

Meanwhile, operating from Glasgow will be Bill Gibb (chief reporter), with Euan Duguid his deputy, as lead reporter.

In a memo sent to staff earlier this week by the paper's publishers, DC Thomson, it was also announced that Dawn Donaghey has been appointed the newspaper’s content editor and David Walker the sports editor.

The memo said all had impressed during interviews last month and would be tremendous assets as the company drives its titles forward.

As reported by allmediascotland, in March, fifteen editorial posts at The Sunday Post – ten in Glasgow, four in Dundee and one in London – had been earmarked for redundancy.

While it’s understood compulsory redundancies have been avoided, it's believed there are to be some departures: David Campbell, Bob Smyth and Gary Moug from Glasgow and Paul Johnson and Steven Bowron from Edinburgh.
