Daily Record/Sunday Mail: What the Other Papers are Saying

If the proposed 90 editorial job cuts at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers has plunged the Scottish newspaper industry into a depression, there is little evidence in today’s press.

The Herald and The Scotsman both give the story some prominence. There is no mention in the Scottish Sun and, perhaps not surprising, there is no mention in the Record itself, nor in its sister title, the Daily Mirror.

The lead News in Brief item on the front page; a half-page spread on page 7 by Helen McArdle quotes from Scottish Labour leader, Iain Gray, and two Glasow MSPs. A large picture montage of editor-in-chief, Bruce Waddell, inset on a picture of the papers’ Glasgow HQ.

The Press and Journal
