New Look for DC Thomson Title

The Weekly News – described by its owners, DC Thomson, as a 'publishing survivor' – has been given a new look.

Says the Dundee-based publisher of the tabloid-sized title: “This publishing survivor, which began life in 1855, was a market-leading million-seller in the 1960s and 70s when it outperformed – and outlasted – long-departed rivals Weekend, Reveille and Titbits.

“However, the title has struggled to maintain its impact in recent years.

“The major revamp, under the auspices of new editor Donald Martin, also in charge of The Sunday Post, gives the weekly a clean, modern look, with a broad range of content offered up in colour-coded sections.”
