Cardonald Student in Running for Journalism Prize

A student at Cardonald College in Glasgow is in the running for a prize being awarded by the National Council for the Training of Journalists.

Matthew Coyle is on a shortlist of seven for the news journalism prize, one of four categories of prizes being run by the NCTJ, the winners of which will be presented next month at the forthcoming Society of Editors' annual conference, this year taking place in Egham.

The other three categores are sports journalism, top scoop and feature.

The shortlist was announced earlier this month.

Coyle is the only obvious Scots entry among the 26 shortlisted.
