Scotsman launches its annual ‘Haggis Hunt’

TEN webcams – in locations as diverse as Eilean Donan Castle, Gretna Green and New Delhi in India – have been switched on for the annual ‘haggis hunt’ competition, staged by The Scotsman newspaper.

Now in its 11th year, the competition involves spotting a ‘haggis’ as it crosses the paths of the webcams. It is played online at scotsman.com and continues until Burns Night, January 25.

Says The Scotsman: “[The game] has developed a cult following and drives significant traffic to scotsman.com. Last year, the site received over seven million impressions and entries were received from 72 different countries as far afield as China and The Philippines. Most popular with web users in Scotland, England and USA, entrants also lived in more obscure locations like Cape Verde and Honduras.”
