Strong showing for Scotsman and Herald groups in awards Shortlist

IT’S a battle mainly between The Scotsman/Scotland on Sunday and The Herald/Sunday Herald in this year’s Scottish Press Awards, which has just announced its shortlist.

This is the 33rd year of the awards, which are run by the Scottish Newspaper Society and which this year involve no entries from The Scottish Sun which has chosen, instead, to stage its own, in-house awards ceremony.

On the night of the awards ceremony – on the 19th of next month, in Glasgow – the Journalist of the Year and Newspaper of the Year prizes will be also announced.

Among the categories, new this year is Website/Digital Product of the Year, which replaces Multi-media Journalist of the Year.
