Widely reported: The stepping down of Scottish Labour’s spin doctor

Being widely reported today, the Scottish Labour party spin doctor, Rami Okasha, has stepped down.

Says the BBC: “Scottish Labour’s head of strategy and communications has said he will step down from the role this week. Rami Okasha’s departure came a month after former general secretary Colin Smyth said he was resigning.”

Begins The Scotsman: “Rami Okasha left his role as a Labour employee yesterday after being suspended last month, amid reports of a turf war with party leader Johann Lamont’s press chief Paul Sinclair, appointed at the end of last year.”

Reports the Daily Record: “Labour’s head of strategy is to formally step down from his role this week, he announced today. Rami Okasha’s departure comes a month after former general secretary Colin Smyth said he was resigning, in a move seen as giving Scottish leader Johann Lamont more authority after a shake-up of party structure.”
