Scotsman seeking ‘administrator’

THE EMAIL was certainly a wake-up call.

Had – asked the author – the site seen that Johnston Press Scotland was seeking an administrator?

allmediascotland.com had heard that the publisher of The Scotsman and several local newspapers in Scotland had recently issued yet another invite for voluntary redundancy, but this was, by comparison, off the scale.

Until all became clear, on page 45 of the today’s edition of The Scotsman.

The ‘administrator’ being sought requires to type to a minimum 25wpm, plus be well-organised, enthusiastic and articulate.

Less an apocalypse, more taking dictation.

Meanwhile, The Herald, in its appointments section, is today advertising for an editor, following the departure, the other week, of Jonathan Russell.

Applications to Herald & Times Group managing director, Tim Blott, by the 26th.
