Herald’s Henderson heading for Virgin Trains

THE transport correspondent at The Herald, Damien Henderson, is to join Virgin Trains.

He is leaving at the end of next month for the role of communications manager for Scotland and the North of England, succeeding the highly-regarded Allan McLean (a former transport correspondent at The Scotsman) who has retired.

Henderson has been at The Herald for just over ten years and been transport correspondent for the last three.

Today in the paper, he shares front page billing, reporting the proposed high-speed rail link from London northwards.
