Media Movers: Marc McLean, Craig Jackson, etc

WELCOME to Media Movers, reporting the latest moves within the Scottish media, including promotions and retirements.

FIRST up, and congratulations to Marc McLean, a media officer with the Glasgow City Council arms-length culture and sport body, Glasgow Life: he has been appointed editor of the Clydebank Post newspaper.

McLean has been with Glasgow Life for a year, on a temporary contract, having previous worked as a reporter at the Daily Record newspaper and been, before that, acting editor of the Dumbarton-based Lennox Herald.

He begins at the Clydebank Post later this month.

SLIGHTLY belated congratulations to Craig Jackson, named news editor at The Sunday Post newspaper.

Jackson was most recently news editor at the Edinburgh Evening News. He began there in October two years ago.

And – except for a couple of years at The Scottish Sun – he was at the Scottish News of the World between September 1999 and three years ago, when the paper was closed down. Indeed, he was news editor at the title from 2006.

PS Jackson’s successor at the Evening News is David McCann – as reported here.

ALSO, as already reported on allmediascotland (here), one of STV’s most senior journalists, Shaun Milne, has decided he wants to explore new challenges. He is currently editor, advance and stream content (digital publishing) at the broadcasters.
