The Media in Figures: Top 50 UK consumer mags (print, paid-for), by circulation

THE TV magazines, TV Choice and What’s on TV, occupy the top two places in a listing of UK ‘consumer magazine circulations’ – in print form, paid-for and fully purchased (ie none given away for free).

Say figures compiled by circulations auditing body, ABC, TV Choice had an average circulation over the six months up to December last year of 1,266,242, while the figure for What’s on TV was 1,056,885. In other words, a 7.9 per cent drop on 12 months previously for TV Choice and a 0.7 per cent increase, year-on-year for What’s On TV.

At No.27 is the DC Thomson title, My Weekly.

The list below refers to print-only – magazines and comic magazines.

For some, there are sales abroad, but of course, their figures are mainly circulations – 100 per cent ‘actively purchased’ – in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

And the circulation figures are averages, up to December last year, either over the previous six months or the previous 12 months, depending on how often the publication reports to ABC.
