Community message expected from marketing guru

OVER 300 marketing professionals from throughout Scotland are expected to hear an inspiring speech from an inventor and star of a reality TV show, on how to make a difference to their local community.

‘Marketing guru’, Doug Hall, is among the guest speakers at this year’s annual conference of the Marketing Society Scotland.

The event – being held in Edinburgh on December 1 – will also include speeches from David Magliano, who was marketing director of London’s successful 2012 Olympic bid; Kim Winser, president and chief exec. of Aquascutum; and Nick Radcliffe, head of Passenger Car Marketing for Mercedes-Benz.

Hall began his inventing career at age 12, inventing and selling a line of magic and juggling kits. After earning a chemical engineering degree from the University of Maine he joined Procter & Gamble where he rose to the rank of Master Marketing Inventor – inventing and shipping a record nine innovations in 12 months.

He is currently the ‘Truth-teller Judge’ of TV show, American Inventor. He is also the founder and CEO of the Eureka! Ranch – located in Cincinnati, USA, with offices in London and Mexico – which specialises in “igniting bold thinking on new products and services” for various corporate giants.
