Shandwick up for Euro prize

ONE of Scotland’s leading public relations consultancies has been short-listed for a new European PR award for a mobile campaign undertaken on behalf of a cancer charity earlier this year.

Weber Shandwick’s Edinburgh bureau created the Daffodil Roadshow for Marie Curie Cancer Care, featuring an exhibition trailer which recreated a living room. The campaign toured Scotland to raise greater awareness of the choices of end of life care, specifically home care, available to terminally ill patients in Scotland.

The project has been nominated in the Non-Profit Organisations category at the European Excellence Awards 2007. The winners will be announced on the 13th of next month in Berlin.

Meanwhile, WS has added to its team in Edinburgh with the appointment of Paula McNulty as an account director. McNulty joins from Napier University, where she headed up the BA Honours course in communication, advertising and public relations. David Sawyer has also been promoted to associate director in the consultancy’s Glasgow office.
