McSeveny moves to top media post in London

A FORMER long-standing head of media relations for ScottishPower is headed for a post in London.

Colin McSeveny, who ran the media relations department of ScottishPower for 12 years, until last September, is joining up again with Philip Norman, who headed ScottishPower for a period before it was sold to Iberdrola of Spain.

McSeveny will be new head of communications for Smith Detection, one of the three divisions of engineering conglomerate, Smith Group, now run by Norman.

Colin also did a five-year stint on the business desk of The Herald.

Also on the move is Press and Journal reporter, Andrew Hamilton, who has become the Press Association’s staff reporter in north-east Scotland, based in Aberdeen.

Andrew takes over from Louise Hosie, who has moved to PA’s Scottish HQ in Glasgow.
