A FORMER senior manager at News International has been appointed a non-executive director on the board of Johnston Press, publishers of The Scotsman.
During a 28-year career at News International, Camilla Rhodes has been managing director of Times Newspapers, publisher of The Times and The Sunday Times (1997 to 2001), and managing director of News Group Newspapers, publisher of the Sun and the News of the World (2001 until 2005).
Four years ago, she set up News Magazines, a stand-alone magazine publishing division.
She left News International late last year.
She has also held several board positions on news industry bodies, including the Advertising Standards Authority, the National Readership Survey, the Newspaper Publishers Association and the Newspaper Marketing Association Council. She is a graduate in economics from University College London.
