Scots mag to advise on how to have a green Christmas

A SCOTS environmental magazine is to hook up with the Guardian newspaper to launch a supplement on how to have a simpler, more environmentally-friendly Christmas.

Greener View is to print 50,000 copies of its guide, with The Guardian Weekend among those helping to distribute it.

Available from the seventh of November, Fresh Perspective – a Greener View for Christmas will be also distributed in shops, libraries, supermarkets, and among MSPs, local authorities and voluntary organisations. Plus, of course, via the Greener View magazine itself.

Even the ink being used to print the supplement – on recycled paper, of course – is environmentally-friendly, being made from vegetables.

Says editor, Lianne Walker: ‘Greener View is independent in that it is not affiliated to any group  – there are other environmental mags in Scotland; for instance, from Friends of the Earth, the RSPB and the Soil Association. The supplement is about how to have a simpler, more environmentally-friendly Christmas, including shopping.”
