Big Issue celebrates birthday with publication date change

THE Big Issue in Scotland magazine is celebrating its 18th birthday and the title – dedicated to giving homeless people a means to earn an income – is using the occasion to change its publishing schedule.

Instead of a Thursday, the magazine is now going to be available from Mondays, with the 18th birthday issue appearing two days ago.

Says Big Issue in Scotland editor, Paul McNamee: “By moving to a Monday, our vendors will be able to offer our readers a fresh new magazine to start each week.”

The current issue includes birthday wishes from, among others, chef Jamie Oliver, Home Secretary Alan Johnson, football’s Sir Alex Ferguson and singer Katherine Jenkins.
