Lines to leave for Media House

THE news editor at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers is to join communications agency, Media House.

Andy Lines is to head up the London office of the Glasgow company, whose founder and executive chair is former Scottish Sun editor, Jack Irvine.

Lines joined the Daily Record as news editor three years ago, having previously been news editor at sister title, the Daily Mirror, for whom he was also US editor, including during 9/11.

His current title is live content editor at what is a merged production at the Record and Mail.

He is a former news editor of The Scottish Sun and the short-lived Sunday Scot – where worked with Irvine.

He has been a journalist for over 27 years, including news editor of the Daily Express, in London.

He told allmediascotland.com: “This is a fantastic new challenge for me and I’m really looking forward to it. Media House is a very successful company and I can’t wait to work for Jack again in their London office.

“It has been a challenging time here at the Record and Sunday Mail since I joined in 2007 but I have really enjoyed it – particularly working with a very talented group of reporters.

“As a team, they really are the best I’ve ever worked with.”
