Ross stepping down from The Scotsman for PR post

THE long-serving Highlands and Islands correspondent for The Scotsman is to leave, for a post with a PR agency.

John Ross, who has been the Inverness-based staff reporter for The Scotsman since 1995, is to join Lucid PR, Events and Marketing early in the New Year. Based in Inverness, Lucid also has an office in Glasgow.

He is joining Lucid at the end of January.

Ross began his career with the Press and Journal and spent 11 years with the regional daily, and a five-year stint at the David Love Press Agency in Inverness, before joining The Scotsman.

He is chair of the Highland and Islands Press Ball Committee, with which he has been involved since 1989.

Lucid is run from Inverness by its co-founder, Peter Kane. It has a Glasgow office, run by Joe Costello, and is to soon open an office in Edinburgh.
