Change in columnists line-up as P&J goes compact

THE Press and Journal has changed its columnists line-up, as it goes compact – from today – six days a week.

Editor, Damian Bates, has introduced ‘The Flying Pigs’, an Aberdeen comedy company, whose column will be appearing on a Monday, to provide a light-hearted start to the week.

Another new columnist – whose identity is being kept secret – is to be unveiled later this week

It means the departure of Mike Lowson and multi-award winner, Nicola Barry, a three-times Columnist of the Year at the Regional Press Awards and who has a column in the Scottish Sunday Express.

Says Bates: “With a new look we wanted to bring some fresh faces on board and just try something different. We’re immensely grateful to Mike and Nicola for all their input and wise words over the years.”
