Bohill made online editor at Media Scotland

THE deputy online editor at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail has been appointed editor.

Dave Bohill is the first appointment by editor-in-chief, Allan Rennie, who took over the reins of a revamped Scottish operation, by publishers, Trinity Mirror. The new entity, Media Scotland, includes the now former local newspaper division, Scottish & Universal.

Rennie succeeded Bruce Waddell as editor-in-chief when the new organisation was launched in December. Since then, ‘consultation talks’ began with four senior editorial staff – as reported here – and it was also announced there would be a closure of some offices, including those of the Paisley Daily Express, which will be produced out of the Daily Record’s Glasgow HQ.

Bohill has worked under predecessors, Iain Hepburn and Iain Pope, who each went on to join STV.

Rennie told allmediascotland.com: “Dave is incredibly talented and a huge asset to Media Scotland. I am looking forward to working with him over the coming months on some exciting projects.”

His remit will include assisting Media Scotland’s local newspaper editors with their websites.

Bohill told allmediascotland.com: “I’m very much looking forward to the challenge of my new role with Media Scotland.”
