Local newspaper issues new edition following case of mistaken identity

A LOCAL newspaper has recalled its current issue from newsagents following a case of mistaken identity.

A new edition of the Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter has been published today, carrying a front-page apology to a local man whose photograph was wrongly used to illustrate a story about a sex offender.

An apology was also posted on the newspaper’s website.

According to the latest audited figures, the paper sells just over 3,700 copies a week.

Steps are understood to be taking place to ensure a similar mix-up cannot take place in the future.
