New website look for The Scots Magazine

ONE of the world’s oldest publications – The Scots Magazine – has unveiled a new-look website.

www.scotsmagazine.com will – say publishers, DC Thomson – “go hand-in-hand with the monthly printed magazine, which is one of the world’s oldest in publication, having first appeared in 1739″.

In a statement issued by DC Thomson, editor-in-chief, Sally Hampton, is quoted, as saying: “The Scots Magazine website has been redesigned for today’s audience. Close collaboration between our editorial and digital teams has produced a site that’s concise and easy to use. I’m absolutely delighted with the results, which will supplement and enhance our printed magazine.

“The market stall site will allow our customers to engage with the title in a new and exciting way, and will enable us to reach a wider audience. The Scots Magazine has an international readership and this updated format will open a gateway for our customers across the globe.”

In its present form, The Scots Magazine dates from 1924, when it was re-established by the St Andrew Society (Glasgow) as the official organ of the Scottish Societies throughout the world. D C Thomson and Co., Ltd, Dundee, took it over in 1927 – since when it has continued to be published monthly.
