Johnston Press announces resignation of chief operating officer

THE publisher of The Scotsman newspaper has announced that its chief operating officer has resigned.

No obvious reason is given by Johnston Press – which also publishes several local newspapers in Scotland – for the stepping down of Danny Cammiade.

Says a statement on the company’s website: “Danny Cammiade, an executive director of the company since 2005 and a long-serving member of the senior management team, will leave the company on 31 March 2013 after completing an agreed transition period following the appointment of Ashley Highfield as chief executive in November 2011.

“The company has also today announced a restructuring that sees its regional publishing unit managing directors now reporting to group commercial director, Neil Jones, and previous other direct reports of Danny Cammiade reporting directly into CEO, Ashley Highfield.”
