Broadsheet switch to compact for Stornoway Gazette

SHOPS in Stornoway, in the Outer Hebrides, should be receiving, just about now, copies of the town’s new-look newspaper, which has today gone from broadsheet to compact.

Says the Stornoway Gazette website, adverse weather conditions have hampered the arrival of the paper, which is part of the Johnston Press group. Its revamp is as part of an ongoing programme of the publisher’s local newspaper titles.

A video welcoming the new look includes, among others, STV presenter, John MacKay.

Says the video, the paper has been broadsheet-sized for more than 90 years.
