Your Noon Briefing: Times appointment for Snowdon, Hello Halo, etc

A FORMER editor of Scotland on Sunday newspaper is returning to Scotland, following over five years in London at the Daily Mail, to become Scotland editor of The Times.

Les Snowdon is currently sports editor at the Daily Mail. He is also a former editor of The Sunday Times Scotland.

He succeeds Angus Macleod, whose death, aged 63, in October was noted, here, on allmediascotland.com.

It’s not known when exactly Snowdon will be taking up his new role.

TO explore the sometimes rich archive of features that have appeared on allmediascotland.com since its second-to-last redesign, in July two years ago, you’ll notice a link icon on each of the feature boxes on the front page of the site.

It’s located towards the bottom right of what we call our ‘gateway boxes’.

All you need to do is click it.

It looks particularly impressive on tablets and smartphones, allmediascotland.com’s latest redesign (about six weeks ago) meaning it is now ‘fully responsive’, to exactly fit the screen you are viewing the site on.

And that link icon works just as effectively when opening the archive of media releases posted on the site, by third parties, such as SMEs, PR agencies, educational bodies and charities.

Story ideas for journalists; old-fashioned stories for the rest of us…
